CHESTER, Pa. – The Arcadia women's soccer team shut out Widener 2-0 on Tuesday.
With the win, the Knights improve to 7-2-2 overall on the season and 2-0 in MAC Commonwealth play. Widener falls to 3-4-2 (1-1 MACC) with on the season.
Erin Vander Plaat got the Knights on the board early in 11-minute mark, when she picked up her fourth goal of the season, with an assist from
Sarah Walsh making the score 1-0.
Arcadia added to its one goal advantage midway through the second half. In the 77th minute,
Megan Mannato scored, giving the Knights a two goal lead.
Arcadia held on from there, to complete the shutout.
IN GOAL: Brianna Williams made four saves for the Knights in the win. Delaney Sabath made eight stops for Widener.
BY THE NUMBERS: This is the Knights second consecutive shutout and fifth of the season … Arcadia doubled Widener in shots, firing 16 with eight on goal, while Widener had four on goal … The Knights had two chances on corner kicks in the contest, Widener had one corner kick.
