Arcadia Blows Past Centenary, 68-45, in Season Opener

GLENSIDE, Pa. -- Taylor Dunn scored a game-high 24 points and added seven boards as the Arcadia women's basketball team opened its season with a 68-45 win over Centenary on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Gymnasium.

Dunn scored 18 of her 24 points in the first half as the Knights took a 33-13 lead into halftime. Arcadia led 13-2 after a first quarter in which it held the Cyclones to 1 of 18 shooting with seven turnovers. The Cyclones didn't get on the board until 1:12 remained in the period when Victoria Jacobs made good on a layup to make the score 11-2. Centenary opened the game missing each of its first 16 shots.

After taking the 11-point lead into the second quarter, the Cyclones cut their deficit to single digits with the first bucket of the stanza, but five straight points from the Knights, including a three-point play by Dunn, pushed AU's lead to 14 (18-4) and the Knights never led by fewer than 11 the rest of the way. Arcadia's lead reached as big as 27 points in the second half.
