Trio of Double Figure Scores Power Women's Basketball Over Widener

CHESTER, Pa. – The Arcadia women's basketball team picked up its second straight win Tuesday night, besting Widener 60-44 in the final road game of the season. The win was fueled by double-digit scoring efforts from sophomores Taylor Dunn (19) and Jamie Manzo (16) and freshman Taylor Fritz (12).
 
FOR THE RECORD:
  • The Scarlet and Grey improved to 10-14 on the year and 5-10 in conference play.
  • The Pride dip to 11-13 overall and 5-10 in the MAC Commonwealth. 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Both teams struggled from the floor over the first 10 minutes of play, however led the Knights led 9-6 after the first period, seeing five points from Dunn.
  • With the second quarter came more scoring, as Fritz nearly doubled Arcadia's point total with eight. The half came to an end with the Knights scoring five straight points to take a 26-22 lead to the break.
  • Arcadia continued to build its lead with the first seven points of the third quarter for a 33-22 midway through the frame. Over the course of the third quarter, the Scarlet and Grey held the hosts to just six points on 3-of-12 from the floor. Arcadia shot 6-of-12 from the field and 7-of-9 from the charity stripe, while outscoring the Pride 19-6.
  • The Knights opened a game-high 21-point lead at 51-30 with 7:54 in the fourth quarter before claiming the win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Dunn's 19 points came on 6-of-17 shooting from the floor and 5-of-7 shooting from the free throw line.
  • Manzo's 16 points came on 7-of-8 shooting from the floor, as Fritz went 6-of-9 from the field for her 12 points.
  • Menns led all players with 11 rebounds.
  • As a team, Arcadia shot 41.8% from the floor on the night.
NOTES:
  • Manzo has reached double-figures in four consecutive games.

  • The Knights close out the regular season Saturday night at home against Hood. Opening tip is set for 1 p.m.
