Ryan Ties Two Program Records as Women's Lacrosse Powers Past Neumann, 24-12

ASTON, PA. – Sophomore Shannon Ryan tied two program records Tuesday afternoon as the Arcadia women's lacrosse team powered past Neumann, 24-12. Ryan tied her own program mark with 13 points in a game, while also tying Jaclyn Feffer's record for draw controls with 15.

FOR THE RECORD:
  • The Knights advance to 3-2 on the season.
  • Neumann falls to 2-4 on the year.
COACH SAYS:
  • "It took us a while to get momentum going today," said head women's lacrosse coach Sam Hosford. "Again, we faced a lot of adversity, but were able to build a momentum and get a big win."
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Arcadia dominated the first period, taking a 9-4 lead into the break. After falling behind, 2-0, the Scarlet and Grey rallied back to take a 3-2 lead. Senior Nicole Hutson put Arcadia on the board first, followed by two scores from sophomore Julia Imbert. Imbert's first was unassisted with the second goal coming on a dish from Ryan. From that point on, the Knights took a 6-2 run to end the period on top. The run started with a free position goal for Ryan. Senior Marie Brockman netted the next two goals for the Knights, as the first was assisted by Ryan and the second came on a free position. Sophomore defender Caroline Toner joined in the scoring efforts, capitalizing on a free position attempt. Ryan contributed a free position goal, before she assisted a Brockman goal to end the run.
  • Much like the first half, the Knights controlled the second, as they came away on top, 24-12. The scoring efforts started with Imbert netting another goal, this time on a feed from Ryan. Just 13 seconds later, sophomore Jess Kaye buried a goal seeing an assist from Imbert. Imbert scored the next two for the Knights, the first on a pass from Ryan and the second on a free position shot. A quick 30 seconds later, Kaye scored her second on the day with the dish from Imbert. Brockman found the back of the net again on an unassisted goal, before Hutson scored another, this time on an assist from Ryan. Ryan scored the following three goals, with all three coming on free position shots. The final five goals of the game all came unassisted with two from Hutson and Ryan, and one from Imbert.
