Anthony Devantier distributed a match high 32 assists, dove for seven digs and created one service ace, as Arcadia men's volleyball fell to Stevenson in the MAC championship (15-25, 22-25, 19-25) Saturday afternoon.
FOR THE RECORD:
- The Knights end their season with 17-13 record.
- Stevenson moves to 21-8 on the year.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The two teams exchanged the lead in the early part of the first set and Arcadia claimed the lead three times. The Mustangs closed the set on top.
- The second set featured nine ties and neither team gained more than a one-point lead until the Knights led 11-9. Stevenson picked it up, pulling ahead 19-15. Arcadia got within two points late, but dropped the set 25-22.
- The Knights built a 7-3 lead in the third set, but the Mustangs climbed to tie at nine. Arcadia stayed close, but Stevenson claimed the lead and did not relinquish it to win the deciding set 25-19.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Sophomore Robie Moctezuma generated nine kills, hitting .500 and blocked one attack.
- Sophomore Zayne George dove for seven digs.
- Sophomore Austin Braas created five kills with a .333 hitting percentage
- Freshman Quinn Baily smacked eight kills and reached for seven digs.
