Defending MAC Commonwealth Champions Set for Game One of the Conference Tournament

YORK, Pa. – The defending MAC Commonwealth Champion Arcadia baseball team is geared up for the conference tournament, looking to repeat as conference champions. Entering day one of the tournament, the No. 2 Knights (26-12, 15-6) are set to take on No. 3 Hood (29-9, 12-9).
 
The Scarlet and Grey took the regular season series, 2-1, over the Blazers. Game one of the series saw extra baseball, as the game was tied at seven after nine innings. Arcadia scored three in the top of the 10th to seal the victory, despite Hood plating one in the bottom half for a final score of 10-8.
 
Game two of the three game set saw 25 runs scored as the Knights held the upper hand, 14-11. The final game saw Hood on top, 21-3. Over the course of the series, the teams combined for 67 runs and 80 hits.
 
Against Hood this season, seven Knights are hitting .333 or above, including senior Nick Cardace, juniors Bryan Gillen, Sean Carew, and Nick Ponente all above .429. Three batters registered four RBIs in the series, with Carew hitting a homer and collecting 11 total bases as he and Gillen led the team with six hits each.
 
First pitch is set for 7 p.m. from the beautiful PEOPLEsBANK Park in York, Pa.
