GLENSIDE, Pa. -- The Arcadia field hockey team fell to Scranton, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon at Jean Lenox West Field and Delran Pavillion.

The loss snapped a three-game win streak for the Knights, who are now 3-2 on the season. Scranton improved to a perfect 6-0 on the year.

The Royals scored the lone goal of the contest at the 26:35 mark of the first half when Grace McClatchy tipped in a shot off the stick of Megan Gallagher past
Catherine Bergmueller.

Arcadia had a number of chances in the first half, outshooting the Royals 9-3, but SU's Jenna Cyr, the sister of Arcadia's
Sydney Cyr, made four first-half saves to keep AU off the board.

Jenna Cyr came up with three saves in the second half as Arcadia generated four more shots, while Bergmueller made four saves in the second period to keep the Knights close.
Lauren Dougherty led the Knights with eight shots on the day, including six on goal.

IN GOAL: Bergmueller allowed the first goal of her career, ending a scoreless streak of 234:16 to begin her collegiate career. Cyr finished with seven saves for the Royals as each goalie played all 70:00.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: The Knights outshot the opposition (13-9) for the fourth time game in a row, and also boasted more corners (9-4) for the fourth successive game … Saturday's game was also the first time that Arcadia had been shutout in the regular season since Oct. 14 of last year, a 3-0 loss to Messiah.
