Knights Win 10th Straight; 67-65 Over Messiah

GRANTHAM, PA. -- The Arcadia men's basketball team rallied from a five-point, halftime deficit to pick up its 10th consecutive win, 67-65, over Messiah on Saturday afternoon.

The Knights remain unbeaten in the MAC Commonwealth at 7-0 and are 13-2 overall. Messiah is now 7-9 overall and 3-4 in the league.

The Knights faced a five-point deficit (35-30) at the break, but used a 12-6 run to open the second half and take a 42-41 lead with just over 14 minutes to play on a three pointer from Da'Kquan Davis. The Falcons scored the next four points to regain the lead 45-42 and AU would play from behind for much of the second half.

Trailing 62-58 with under five minutes to play, Phil Pierfy converted a three-point play to pull the Scarlet & Grey within a point at 62-61, and Davis followed with another three at the 2:59 mark to put the Knights up for good at 64-62.

Josh Darville missed a chance to tie the game for Messiah when he split a pair of free throws with 2:26 left, and Evan Slone made 1 of 2 for the Knights with 41 seconds left to make it 65-63. Kyle Reilly knocked down a pair of free throws with six seconds left for a 67-63 contest and the Falcons added an inconsequential layup as time expired.
