Win Streak Reaches 8; Knights Top Albright 90-75

READING, Pa. -- The Arcadia men's basketball team ran its record to 11-2 on the season, and won its eighth straight game, with a 90-75 defeat of Albright on Saturday afternoon.

Four players scored in double figures and the Knights forced a season-high 24 turnovers in winning for the 11th time in 13 games. The win kept AU atop the MAC Commonwealth standings with an unblemished 5-0 mark in league play. Albright slipped to 4-10 overall and 3-3 in league play.

Da'Kquan Davis opened the scoring with a three just over a minute into the contest, and the Knights would never trail in the game. By the 13-minute mark, the Knights' lead reach nine (16-7), courtesy of a Davis jumper, but the Lions came back and trimmed their deficit to four (22-18) with under nine minutes left in the first half.

Four points is the closest the Lions could get as Arcadia took a 38-31 lead into the break. The Knights opened the second half with an 8-2 run, capped by a pair of free throws from Josh Scott, to take a 46-33 lead with 17:41 left. The lead never dipped below double digits the remainder of the way as Arcadia pulled away.

Davis led the Knights with 20 points, including 3 of 4 shooting from long range and 5 of 5 shooting from the line. Phil Pierfy added 18 points, and Evan Slone and Kyle Reilly scored 13 points apiece. Slone also pulled down eight rebounds and Scott handed out seven assists to go with nine points.

The Lions actually outshot the Knights, hitting on 51.9 percent of their shot attempts, while AU shot 46.3 percent. The Knights had a 33-31 advantage on the glass and shot 20 of 26 from the line, while Albright attempted 21 free throws, making just 10.

Samuel Majekodunmi led the Lions with 23 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Jared Rappoport scored 19 points with nine rebounds and four blocks.
