GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University field hockey team wrapped up their regular season with a 3-2 victory over Eastern University on Saturday afternoon.
Adera Ahern and
Michaela Ferlow provided first half goals, while
Autumn Gahman scored the game-winner in the third quarter.
The Knights celebrated Autism Awareness Day before today's competition.
Sydney Cyr and her brother Luke walked out with the Knights for the lineup introductions.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ahern netted the opening score to give the Knights a first quarter advantage. Following a corner attempt, Ahern received a pass in front of the cage and maneuvered around traffic to find an open look at the net.
- Ferlow sent the Knights into the half with a 2-0 lead with a goal in the 17th minute.
Regan Sammons played an aerial strike to the front of the net, which was deflected by the stick of Ferlow.
- The Knights expanded their lead with an early second half tally from Gahman.
Isabelle Houser sent a centering pass from the left side of the cage, which connected with the stick of Gahman for a tip-in at the opposite post.
- The Eagles stormed back with two second half tallies to pull within one score. Ali Balmer chipped in the first goal after Moriah Greene ripped a pass into traffic. Joelle Walsh then connected on a one-timer following a corner strike from Becky Howard.
