GLENSIDE, Pa. -- The Arcadia men's volleyball team set a season-high with 11 aces and hit a season-best .533 in a 3-1 win over Eastern on Wednesday night at Alumni Gymnasium.

Arcadia won the first set 25-19, cruised to a 25-13 win in the second, then saw the Eagles eke out a 25-23 win in the third as most of the Knights' starters took a seat. With the starters back in, AU sealed the match with a 25-9 win in the fourth. The win pushes AU to 12-4 on the season, while Eastern slips to 4-1 overall.

A back-and-forth first set turned in AU's favor late as the Knights closed on a 6-1 run, scoring the final three points on attack errors by the Eagles. In the second, Eastern actually led 5-3 before a 9-0 run by the Scarlet & Grey gave the hosts a 12-5 lead.
Quinn Baily ripped off a string of six consecutive service aces in the middle of the run.

Using a wealth of subs in the third, the Knights led 19-16 following a kill by
Robie Moctezuma. The Eagles answered with four straight points to take a 20-19 lead prompting an AU timeout. After the tying the match at 20-20, the Knights fell behind 22-20, and despite pulling within one point several times down the stretch, could not complete the sweep.

The fourth set was all Arcadia opened a 10-2 lead in the early going. A 6-0 run shortly thereafter turned an 11-4 lead into a 17-4 advantage and AU cruised from there.

Austin Braas led AU with 10 kills and hit .909 for the match, he also added six blocks.
Jason Manley added nine kills and three service aces,
Dan Paraskevov totaled seven kills and
Robie Moctezuma added five.
Anthony Devantier led the squad with 27 assists, and Baily added a team-high six digs.

Eastern, which hit -.037 as a team, was led by Darren Lopez, who had 13 kills and four service aces. Noah Westbrook added seven kills, and Cameron Parsons chipped in 23 assists and six digs.

Arcadia continues conference play this weekend when it takes on Wilkes and Stevenson beginning at 2 p.m. in Stevenson, Md.
