MBB Wins School-Record 20th Game, 75-62, at Lebanon Valley

ANNVILLE, Pa. -- Arcadia's men's basketball team won its school-record 20th game with a 75-62 victory at Lebanon Valley on Saturday afternoon.

The Knights, who have already secured the No. 1 seed in the MAC Commonwealth Championship, improved to 20-3 overall and remained perfect in league play at 14-0. The Dutchmen slipped to 7-16 on the season and 4-10 in the MAC Commonwealth.

Evan Slone and Phil Pierfy led the Knights with 16 points apiece, and Da'Kquan Davis added 11 as the Scarlet & Grey shook off a slow start before pulling away in the second half.

The Knights shot just 9 of 24 (.375) from the floor in the first half and found themselves trailing 26-25 at the break. In the second half, Arcadia's shooting percentage jumped to 61.5 percent (16-26), while LVC shot just 11 of 29 (.379), and AU outscored the Dutchmen 50-36 over the final 20 minutes.

A jumper by Pierfy followed by a three-point play from Slone gave AU a 30-26 lead to begin the second half. The Dutchmen quickly answered with a 7-0 run to regain a 33-30 lead with 17:47 to play. LVC's lead reached as many as seven points (44-37) on a Mason Green triple with 13:40 remaining before the Knights began chipping away.

A 13-6 run by Arcadia pulled the Knights even at 50-50 with just under 10 minutes to play as Davis converted a three-point play. The score remained tied (55-55) before three straight points from Slone put AU in front for good, 58-55, with 8:11 left. Slone made it five straight points with two more free throws for a 60-55 lead. The Dutchmen never got closer than three the rest of the way, and Arcadia held LVC to just four total points in the last 5:00 of the game in pulling away for the win.

Slone led the Knights with nine rebounds and Pierfy added eight as AU held a 45-26 edge on the glass. The +19 margin was the second-highest for the Knights this season. Arcadia also made more free throws (21) than Lebanon Valley attempted (18) and forced 16 turnovers.

Josh Scott finished with 11 points, six rebounds and five assists for the Knights, and Kyle Reilly and Steve Pendleton chipped in nine and eight points off the bench, respectively.

Green led the Dutchmen with 16 points off the bench, and fellow reserve AJ Catanzaro chipped in 13 as the LVC bench accounted for 32 of the team's 62 points.

Arcadia will play its final home game of the regular season on Tuesday at 8 p.m. when it hosts Widener.
