READING, Pa. – The Arcadia men's tennis netted a 7-2 victory over Alvernia Wednesday afternoon. The Scarlet & Grey improve to 6-11 overall and 2-3 in conference play.

The Knights got off to a fast start, sweeping the doubles portion of the match, and dominated singles, winning four of six matches.

Nicholas Simeone and Jaime Zeng Zhu defeated Mike Brophy and Reid Hoff, 8-4 in the first doubles match. In the second doubles match, John Zinzer and Drake Hanak picked up an 8-3 win. In the third flight, Ryan Stellato and Anthony Del Rio eeked out an 8-6 triumph for the sweep.

In singles action, back-to-back wins to start by Simeone (6-0, 6-2) at No. 1 and Zinzer (6-1, 6-0) at No. 3 clinched the team victory for AU. At No. 4, Hanak earned a 7-5, 6-0 win to give the Knights six straight team wins.

The teams traded victories back and forth as AU fell at No. 6, won at No. 2 and was defeated at flight 5 to close out the afternoon affair. In the win at flight 2, Stellato earned the hard fought victory, 3-6, 6-3, 10-7.

The Knights hit the court again Apr. 27 at home versus Lycoming. The match also marks the program's senior day. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
