Box Score 2 SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Arcadia University women's volleyball team opened its weekend at Swarthmore Friday night with a pair of intriguing matchups against the University of Redlands and the host Garnet, and despite a pair of hard-fought efforts, the Knights were unable to claim a victory, falling 3-2 and 3-1, respectively. The Knights went all five sets with Redlands for the second-consecutive match and for the third time in the early stages of the season before falling in four sets to the Garnet in a match where three of the four sets were decided by four or fewer points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Knights fell behind early in the first set and never held a lead in the opener, but rallied to get within one point of tying the set on a pair of occassions before ultimately falling, 25-21.
-The two sides were deadlocked at 12 in the middle stages of the second set, but a 5-1 run vaulted the Knights to a 17-13 lead and would hold the advantage the rest of the way thanks to a trio of
Allison Elechko kills to take a 25-17 set victory.
-Despite trailing 15-10 in the third set, the Knights rallied for a 5-0 run to draw even with the Garnet and held serve for set point at 24-23, but Swarthmore would not be turned away and rallied for the 29-27 win in the third set.
-Arcadia faced a similar five-point deficit in the fourth set but came on strong with a 6-0 run to regain the lead thanks to kills from
Maddie Sehrt,
Shannon Ryan,
Lauren Enfield and Elechko. The Knights found themselves down 24-18 with the match on the line, but a 7-0 run put Arcadia in control at 25-24 with a chance to draw even at two sets apiece. However, Swarthmore went on to take the final three points of the fourth set to take the match, 3-2.
