WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – After falling to the Warriors by three points earlier in the season, the Arcadia University women's basketball team picked up an important conference victory with a 80-77 win over Lycoming College in overtime.
Taylor Dunn led the way with 25 points, including a go-ahead three-pointer in overtime.
Julia Makowski also had a huge offensive performance with 23 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights had one of their best offensive quarters of the season, outscoring the Warriors 30-22 in the opening stanza. Makowski expanded the Knights lead to 10-4 with a three-point play with 7:46 remaining. The Knights led by as many as 12 points in the quarter.
- Arcadia expanded their lead to 13 points with a Dunn three-pointer with 8:36 remaining. The Knights later took their largest lead following Dunn's third three-pointer of the quarter, 51-38.
- Lycoming cut their deficit to three points with 5:02 remaining in the third stanza. The Knights ended the quarter with a five-point advantage following a
Taylor Fritz jumper, 61-56.
- The Warriors knotted the game at 62-62 with 6:47 remaining in the fourth quarter. Lycoming soon took the lead with a three-pointer, but
Sydney Cyr responded with a bucket from beyond the arc to jump ahead by two points. Lycoming tied the game with a layup at the 1:00 mark to send the game into overtime.
- Lycoming opened the overtime with a three-pointer and quickly expanded their lead to four points. Dunn scored the Knights go-ahead three-pointer with 1:52 remaining. Makowski then sealed the Knights victory with two free throws.
