GLASSBORO, N.J. - The Arcadia University field hockey team dropped its midweek, non-conference matchup at No. 6 Rowan Wednesday night, 4-0. The Profs moved from 12th to sixth in this week's National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) NCAA Division III rankings.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Knights fended away an early Rowan penalty corner thanks to an
Autumn Gahman defensive save, but the Profs were able to break through with the game's first goal just over eight minutes into play. Rowan went on to double its lead in the second quarter after a deflection off of a
Gracie Fenner save was collected at the left side of the cage by Vanessa Didonato and sent into the back of the cage. The Profs' second goal of the quarter came with five seconds left on the clock, sending the hosts to the break with a three-goal advantage.
-Rowan extended its lead to four with a late third-quarter goal, and despite opportunities on net from
Makenna Fick and
Bridget Buckmaster in the fourth, the Knights were unable to overcome the deficit, falling 4-0.
