Women's Soccer Outlasts King's in Road Victory

WILKES-BARRE,  Pa. - The Arcadia University women's soccer team captured its second-straight conference win and kept its playoff hopes alive with a 1-0 victory at King's College on Saturday night.

Kira Bochard scored the game's lone goal with a penalty kick in the 50th minute after Amanda Thaler was taken down in the box to draw the penalty.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights controlled possession at their end of the field for the majority of the opening half. Arcadia registered six shots on goal in the opening 45-minutes, but were unable to sneak one past the Monarchs' goalkeeper.

- Thaler was taken down in the box during the 50th minute to earn a penalty kick as the Knights called on Bochard to take the attempt. The graduate student buried her attempt in the bottom left corner of the goal to put the Knights ahead with her team-leading eighth goal of the season.

- Arcadia earned its second shutout of the season as Gabby Green made two saves to hold the Monarchs scoreless.
