Men’s Basketball Drops Widener Tip-Off Tournament Opener to Stockton, 82-71

CHESTER, Pa. - The Arcadia University men's basketball program opened play in the Widener Tip-Off Tournament Friday night, falling to Stockton, 82-71. Jalen Watkins led the Knights with 18 points and eight rebounds, while Samuel Majekodunmi added 14 points in the effort.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Knights jumped out to an early lead thanks to consecutive threes from Dom Vazquez and  Samuel Majeodunmi on the first two possessions before the two sides traded points to arrive at 17-all tie at the 11:20 mark. The Ospreys then took off on an 11-0 run before a Jared Chambliss three brought it to an end. An 8-2 Arcadia run down the stretch over the final two minutes of the half brought the Knights within three at the break, 38-35.

-Jalen Watkins and Gabe Kier kept the Knights within striking distance in the opening minutes of the second half as Watkins netted six quick points and Kier added five of his own, but another Osprey scoring run found Arcadia down an even ten at the 12:34 mark. The Knights answered right back with a 12-2 run of their own to draw even at 59 - highlighted by back-to-back threes from Money and Tre DiGuglielmo.

-Arcadia kept it a two-possession game as the minutes wound down in regulation, but Stockton eventually pulled away late with an 8-2 run to come away with the 82-71 victory.
