HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Pioneers scored less than two minutes into the first period. They added another goal about four minutes later to take a 2-0 lead. That score would stand as the teams went into the first intermission.
- Utica scored its third goal of the game less than five minutes into the second period. They would add a fourth as the Pioneers led 4-0 going into the second intermission.
- The fifth goal for the Pioneers came 1:48 into the third period. They scored three more times, including one on the power play to take the victory, 8-0.
