GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University men's swimming team kept its unbeaten record in Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) dual meets intact with a 148-108 victory over Messiah Saturday. Janis Kirsis and Carlos Pinga led the Knights with three individual victories each on the afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Knights began the meet on a high note with a win in the 200-yd medley relay as Shane Stauffer, Tyler Mui, Janis Kirsis and Carlos Pinga touched the wall at 1:38.44. Kirsis went on to win the 100-yd backstroke by nearly three seconds (55.44) before Mui took first in the 100-yd breaststroke (1:02.06) and Pinga took the 200-yd butterfly (2:06.67).
-Stauffer won back-to-back events beginning with the 50-yd freestyle (22.48) and followed up with first in the 100-yd freestyle (49.15). Kirsis returned to the top of the podium with a win in the 200-yd backstroke, pacing the field by over ten seconds with a time of 2:01.53.
-Pinga picked up his third victory of the afternoon in the 100-yd butterfly (55.56) before Kirsis matched his win total with a first-place finish in the 200-yd individual medley (2:01.44).
-Arcadia capped the meet with a strong showing in the 200-yd freestyle relay as Mui, Stauffer, Ryan Erdman, and George Wade got to the wall first with a time of 1:29.12.
