Men's Basketball Drops Tight Battle at York, 78-68

YORK, Pa. - The Arcadia University men's basketball team dropped a tightly-contested battle at York College, 78-68, on Saturday afternoon.

Dom Vazquez led the Knights with a team-high 14 points and three assists in 22-minutes off the bench. Gabe Kier, Jalen Watkins and Justin Money also recorded double figures in scoring. Kier and Watkins tallied 12 points, while Money added 10 points. Watkins also grabbed 11 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans jumped ahead by eight points following a three-pointer with 12:51 remaining in the first half. Vazquez helped keep the Knights in the game with seven of their next nine points as Arcadia pulled within five points, 22-17.

- York pulled ahead by eight points with one minute remaining in the half. Vazquez answered with a three-pointer on the Knights following possession, then Money went coast-to-coast after stealing the ball at the defensive end to cut the Knights deficit to three points, 33-30.

- Early in the second half, Kier knocked down a three-pointer to tie the game. However, the Spartans pulled ahead with nine-unanswered points to distance themselves with a double-digit lead, 52-42.

- The Knights put together a 12-2 run to tie the game at the midway point of the second half. Cole Walker led the Knights with six points during the stretch, while Vazquez added four points. Kier then drilled a jumper to give the Knights their first lead since early in the opening half, 56-54.

- Arcadia took the lead following a Watkins layup with 3:10 left. The Spartans then closed the game on an 11-0 run to claim victory.
