GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University field hockey team dropped its first of three games this week to visiting Stockton Monday night at Jean Lenox West Field, 2-0.
Gracie Fenner made a game-high ten saves in net in another solid performance while
Morganne Dee paced the Knights with five shots.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Both sides struggled to get in a rhythm offensively in the early going as the Knights held Stockton to zero shots while only posting two of their own. Still scoreless late in the second quarter, the Ospreys had their best chance of the half to break the scoreless tie following a penalty corner, but Fenner came up with a huge save to deflect the fall over the top of the cage to keep the game scoreless going into the half.
-The Ospreys broke through with the game's first score just over two minutes into the third quarter as a loose ball in front of the cage turned into a Gianna Morganti score. The Knights had a chance of their own moments later coming off a penalty corner, but
Autumn Gahman's strike on goal was met with a save.
-Stockton doubled its lead eight minutes into the final quarter, and despite a flurry of shots on goal in the final four minutes thanks to five penalty corners, the Knights were unable to cut into the deficit in the 2-0 defeat.
KNIGHT LEADERS
-Shots: Dee 5, Gahman 4, Three tied with two
-Saves: Fenner 10
