ASTON, Pa. - The Arcadia University field hockey team got back on track Saturday afternoon with a dominant, 8-0 win at Neumann.
Morganne Dee and Caeley Letersky paced the Knight offense with a pair of goals each, while Dee posted a game-high six points with a pair of assists. The. Knights held Neumann without a shot or penalty corner the entire game in the effort.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Knights wasted no time getting on the board Saturday, as Dee scored her first of two goals just 54 seconds into play on an assist from Letersky. With under a minute left in the opening quarter,
Lindsay Kuss' penalty corner resulted in an
Autumn Gahman goal as Arcadia took a two-goal lead into the second.
-Arcadia had a pair of chances on goal in the second quarter, but both were met with saves as the Knights settled for a 2-0 lead at halftime. The Knights came out on a heavy offensive attack to begin the second half - registering nine shots on goal in the first three-plus minutes - before the ninth shot resulted in a goal off the stick of
Mickie March with an assist from Gahman. March's tally proved to be the first of four scores in the quarter as
Regan Sammons,
Carly Flickinger, and Letersky joined the action to extend the Arcadia lead to 6-0.
-Dee and Letersky both netted their game-high second goals of the afternoon early on in the fourth quarter to put the game away, with Dee providing the assist on Letersky's tally. Arcadia's eight goals on the afternoon matches the season-high set in the season-opening win over Albright.
