O'Mara and Weirich Score First Career Goals, Women's Soccer Defeats Penn State Berks

GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University women's soccer defeated Penn State Berks, 2-1, on Thursday evening at Jean Lenox West Field.  

First year forward Sheila O'Mara and sophomore Caroline Weirich scored their first career goals in the Knights' win.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • A vast majority of the first half was dominated by the Knights attack. Arcadia recorded six shots and earned five corner kicks in the opening 45 minutes.  

  • O'Mara got the Knights on the board with a goal in the 51st minute. Weirich scored the eventual game-winning goal in the 81st minute.  

  • Penn State Berks got a goal back in the 89th minute, but Arcadia was able to hold on for the victory.
