CORTLAND, N.Y. - The Arcadia University women's volleyball program concluded play at the Red Dragon Classic Saturday, falling in five sets to Nazareth in its first match of the day before rallying for a three-set victory over St. Lawrence.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Knights raced out to a commanding lead in the opening set Saturday, as a 9-1 run vaulted them to an 11-6 lead highlighted by three Katie Paoli kills. Arcadia led by at least five points to the end of the set to take a 25-19 victory.
-Arcadia and Nazareth traded points in the early stages of the second set before the Knights fell victim to a 5-0 run that left them trailing by seven, 14-7. The Knights took advantage of a few Nazareth errors to get back within three, but the Eagles ultimately came away with a 25-20 victory.
-Nazareth claimed the first five points of the third set before another 5-0 run dealt the Knights a ten-point deficit at 16-6. Michelle Frank provided a pair of kills in the set, but Nazareth held its lead the rest of the way to take the third, 25-15.
-The Knights flipped the script in the fourth set by jumping out to a six-point lead at 11-5 thanks to a pair of kills from Danielle Fedorchak. Nazareth hung around in the middle stages of the set but a 6-2 run that featured aces from Frank and Nicole Dallara created some separation before the Knights won the final five points of the set - capped off by a Haylee Harper kill - to force a deciding fifth set with a 25-19 win.
-Frank and Grace Kraft combined for three kills in the fifth set, but the Knights were unable to take the lead, falling 15-11 to the Eagles.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-After falling behind early in the opening set, the Knights rallied for five-straight points to take their first lead of the day as Frank and Dallara both registered kills. Leading 16-15 in the late stages of the first, the Knights won nine fo the final 14 points down the stretch to take the opener, 25-20.
-The Knights never trailed in the second set and led by as many as six in the frame to keep the momentum going. Despite a 6-1 St. Lawrence run to tie the set at 18-all, Frank powered Arcadia with a pair of kills and an ace as the Knights took the final four points of the set en route to the 25-21 victory.
-Neither side was able to create any separation in the third set as St. Lawrence battled to avoid the sweep. While holding a one-point lead at 16-15, the Knights ripped off seven-straight points over the course of a 9-2 run to the end of the set to secure the straight-sets victory, 25-17.
Mandy Singleton had three aces and
Danielle Doyle added three kills over that stretch to lead the Knights to victory.
