Men's Swimming Sets New Pool Record in Win Over Albright

Glenside - The Arcadia University men's swim team pushed their DIII dual meet win streak to 25 with a 204-35 win in Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) competition against Albright College at Lenox Pool on Saturday afternoon. Shane Stauffer, Tyler Mui, Janis Kirsis, and Ryan Erdman started off the meet by setting a pool record in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:37.41.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- George Mitev touched the wall first in the 1000-yard freestyle, earning 9 points, with a time 10:41.01. 

- Dylan Alexander swam the 200-yard freestyle event for the first time this season, putting up a time of 1:50.69 for first place. 

- Kirsis also recorded two individual wins, including a season best time of 53:45 in the 100-yard butterfly, dropping four tenths of a second from his time last week against Misericordia. He also took first in the 100-yard freestyle (48.85). 

- Christopher Stanaway swam to his first two collegiate wins. He touched the wall first in the 50-yard freestyle for a season best time of 23.44, cutting three tenths of a second from his time from a week ago. Stanaway also earned the team 9 points by completing the 100-yard backstroke in 58.17. 

- The Knights secured first and second place in the 100-yard breaststroke with two season best times by Mui (1:01.57) and Erdman (1:03.09). 

- In the 400-yard individual medley George Wade swam a 4:32.23 for a first place finish followed by Kevin Foley with a time of 4:38.10. 

- Stauffer (5:04.11) and Alexander (5:04.36) finished less than a second apart in the 500-freestyle to put Knights in first and second place.

The Knights return to action on Saturday when they head to Messiah for a 1:00p.m. MAC meet.
