Kier Explodes as Men's Basketball Downs Misericordia

Gabe Kier was on fire all afternoon, shooting six-of-eight from beyond the arc to lead the Arcadia University men's basketball team to a 90-75 victory over Misericordia University in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play from Alumni Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.
The 90 points scored by the Knights are the most they have totaled during the 2021-22 season.
Arcadia improved to 8-5 in conference play and 9-13 overall while the Cougars dropped to 6-7 in league play and 8-14 overall.
The Knights started the after with a 4-0 lead on a
Justin Money layup and two
Jalen Watkins free-throws. The pushed the lead to 7-2 following a
Nas Johnson three-pointer before Misericordia used a 13-0 run to take a 15-7 lead with 14:43 on the clock.
From that point, Arcadia used a 13-0 run to take a 20-15 advantage with 12:11 left in the first half. The Knights led 23-22 with 9:26 in the first half after a Cougars layup, and from there Arcadia went on a 15-2 run highlighted by three consecutive three-pointers from Kier to grab a 38-24 lead with 6:01 on the clock. The Knights cruised into halftime holding a 50-37 lead.
Misericordia cut the score to 52-44 to start the second half, but Arcadia's lead never shrunk below seven points as it closed out the victory.
Kier led the way with season highs of 26 points and nine rebounds. Johnson Finished with 13 points and three assists while
Samuel Majekodunmi and Watkins each contributed 12 points, with Watkins adding 12 rebounds for the double-double.
Nick Hornung led the Cougars with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Elijah Rosenthal added 17 points, five rebounds, and five assists, Kevin Lazdowsky finished with 10 points and Nick Prociak contributed 10 points in 15 minutes off the bench.
The Knights dominated in the paint for a 38-24 advantage and turned up the defensive pressure converting 11 Misericordia turnovers into 20 points.
Arcadia returns to the hardwood on Wednesday when it travels to FDU-Florham for an 8:00 p.m. MAC Freedom matchup.
