Hibbard Pots Overtime Winner for Women's Ice Hockey

Berklee Hibbard deposited a cross-crease pass from
Bridgit Terry just 54 seconds into overtime to break a scoreless tie and lift the Arcadia University women's ice hockey team to a 1-0 win over Alvernia University in United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) action from Hatfield Ice Arena on Sunday afternoon.
The Knights improved to 7-9-0 in conference ad 8-13-0 overall with the win.
Neither team had a scoring opportunity in the first period as it ended tied at zero.
Arcadia turned up the offensive pressure in the second period outshooting the Golden Wolves 12-3 but were again unable to break through.
The Knights got their first power-play opportunity in the third period but were unable to convert. Arcadia held the shot advantage in the third period as well, 14-6, but regulation ended without either team getting on the board.
Arcadia secured the win when
Karahkwenhawe White passed it to White, taking advantage of a developing two-on-one and saucering a cross-crease pass to Hibbard who found the back of the net.
Hannah Bergeron earned the shutout win, stopping all 17 shots sent her way.
The Knights were 50 percent (30-for-30) in the face-off circle, ked by
Campbell Torrey, who won 17-of-24 opportunities.
Arcadia returns to action on Friday when it will host Lebanon Valley College for a 7:15 p.m. UCHC contest at Hatfield Ice Arena.
