GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University men's volleyball team fell in a tightly contested match to Lancaster Bible College, 3-0 on Wednesday night in Alumni Gymnasium.
Collin Nissley tallied 10 kills and had a .400 hitting percentage in the match. Anthony Devantier dished out 20 assists for the Knights.
LANCASTER BIBLE 3, ARCADIA 0
HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1: Lancaster Bible 25, Arcadia 22
The teams traded points until the Knights won three straight to take a 12-9 lead. Arcadia led by three, but Lancaster Bible won six of the next seven points to take a 17-15 lead. The Knights rattled off four straight points to take a 20-18 lead, but the Chargers won seven of the final 10 points to win the set 25-22.
Set 2: Lancaster Bible 25, Arcadia 19
The Chargers took an early 7-3 lead, but Arcadia would claw back to get within a point, 12-11. Lancaster Bible went on a 5-1 run to take a 17-12 lead, and extended that lead to 21-14. The Knights won four consecutive points to get within three, 21-18, but the Chargers won four of the final five points to win the set 25-19 and take a two-set advantage in the match.
Set 3: Lancaster Bible 25, Arcadia 19
The Chargers won the first three points of the set, but Arcadia cut the Lancaster Bible lead to just one point on three separate occasions in the early portion of the set. The Chargers won three straight points to take a 16-12 lead, forcing an Arcadia timeout. Lancaster Bible also won the next three points, forcing another Arcadia timeout. The Knights won 5-of-6 points to cut the Chargers lead to 23-18, but Lancaster Bible won two of the final three points to win the set 25-19 and win the match.
