Men's Tennis Opens Conference Play with Win over Lycoming
GLENSIDE – The Arcadia University men's tennis team opened the 2022 spring season on Saturday, defeating Lycoming College 5-4 in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play.
The Knights improved to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in conference.
Jonathan Noble and Elias Duthinh took the win at No. 1 doubles 8-3.
After dropping the first set at No. 1 singles, Duthinh won the second set in a tie break (7-5) then cruised to 6-0 third set win.
Noble won No. 2 singles in straight sets 6-2, 6-1.
Matthew Nagy took set one at No. 4 singles 6-1 before dropping set two 1-6. Nagy secured the win with a 7-5 win in the third set.
David Cassel secured the win at No. 7 singles, storming back after dropping the first set 2-6, taking set two 6-1 and set three 7-5.
Arcadia returns to the court tomorrow when it travels to West Chester University for a 1:00 p.m. non-conference match.
