Women's Ice Hockey Extends Win Streak to Six with Shutout Victory Over King's

PITTSTON, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's ice hockey team completed the weekend sweep over King's, defeating the Monarchs, 8-0, on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Knights shut out King's for the second consecutive game, outscoring the Monarchs, 13-0 across the two games.
 
With the win the Knights extended their win streak to six games, improving their record to 6-5-2, including 2-4-2 in United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) play.
 
Five different Knights found the back of the net, including three scoring two goals. Haylee Kos, Mairead O'Connell and Ariel Williamson all scored twice, while Bridgit Terry and Maeve Hourihan scored once. O'Connell's two goals were the first two scores of her career. Hourihan added three assists to lead the Knights with four points.
 
Jo Coates started in goal for Arcadia and made 18 saves. The shutout is the second of the season for the sophomore goaltender.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Hourihan got the scoring started for Arcadia just over a minute and half into the contest. The goal was her third of the weekend. Leah Hatcher tallied the assist. Kos and Williamson added goals before the end of the period. Hourihan, Campbell Torrey and Karahkwenhawe White all added assists on the two goals.
  • The Knights added three goals in the middle period as Williamson, Terry and O'Connell all extended Arcadia's lead. White, Abbi Komrofske, Hatcher and Hourihan added the helpers on the goals.
  • Arcadia scored twice in the final period to seal its 8-0 win. Kos and O'Connell had the goals as Torrey and Hourihan had the assists on the scores.
