GLENSIDE - A 15-0 run capped by a layup and three-pointer from
Nas Johnson lead the Arcadia University men's basketball team to a 64-63 victory over Susquehanna University to open the 2023-24 season on Thursday inside Alumni Gymnasium.

-Arcadia improves to 1-0 while Susquehanna falls to 0-1
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Knights held an early 12-8 lead with 14:31 on the clock
-An 11-0 run put the River Hawks on top 19-12 four minutes later.
-Arcadia outscored Susquehanna 19-14 the rest of the half, trailing 33-31 going into the break.
-With the score tied at 34 less than minute into the second half, the River Hawks used an 11-2 run to take a 45-37 lead with 15 minutes left.
-The Knights deficit grew as large as 11 at 56-45 with 8:19 on the clock.
-Arcadia used a 15-0 run, reaching a 60-56 advantage with under four minutes left.
-A jumper by
Jalen Watkins and a layup from
Justin Money put the game away, giving the Knights a 64-59 lead with 93 seconds until the final buzzer.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
-Watkins now has 753 rebounds, surpassing the previous career-record held by Shawn Bishop '96.
-Watkins notched his 32nd career double-double.
-The Knights were consistent shooting the ball, going 46.7 percent (14-30) in the first half and 44 percent (11-25) in the second.
-Arcadia held the River Hawks to 34.3 percent (12-35) in the second half.
NOTES
-This is Arcadia's first season-opening win since the abbreviated 2020-21 season.
