DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – The No. 5-seeded Arcadia University women's basketball team secured its first-ever Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) postseason victory in program history, defeating No. 4 Delaware Valley University by a 67-55 final in the MAC Freedom play-in game on Monday evening. Scarlett Glasser-Nehls led all scorers with a career-high 25 points, followed by Delaney Bell with 16 and Hanna Rhoades with 11.
The victory marks the first postseason victory since Arcadia joined the MAC in 2007-2008, both during its time in the MAC Commonwealth and MAC Freedom. The victory is the first in the postseason dating to at least the 2002-03 season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights began the contest on a 10-3 run with four points from Bell on a free-throw and a three-pointer.
-The Aggies countered with a 6-0 run to bring the score to 10-9 with under four minutes left in the first quarter.
-Arcadia held a 15-12 lead after the first ten minutes.
-The Knights outscored Delaware Valley 24-12 in the second quarter, holding a 39-24 lead heading into halftime.
-The Aggies started the third quarter on a 8-2 run to cut the lead to 41-32.
-Arcadia held a 55-42 lead after the third quarter.
-The Knights lead never went below 10 points in the fourth as they cruised to the victory.
