Men's Lacrosse Battles with Swarthmore

GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's lacrosse team was topped by Swarthmore, 16-10, on Saturday afternoon at Jean Lenox West Field.
 
Three Arcadia players found the back of the net multiple times and Justin Chinici and Brian Albertsen both had three goals and Kyle McLaughlin had two. McLaughlin also added two assists to lead the Knights with five points in the game.
 
First-year goalkeeper Nathaniel Hudgins had a career-high 17 saves in the loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Garnet opened the game on a 5-0 run. Billy Burton got the Knights on the board with less than a minute to play in the opening quarter to cut their deficit to 5-1.
  • McLaughlin scored the opening goal of the second quarter. Swarthmore then scored three straight to grow its lead to 8-2. Albertsen scored his first of the game to stop the run, but Swarthmore scored once more before the end of the half as it led 9-3 at the end of 30 minutes of play.
  • After the Garnet scored in the opening minute of the third quarter, Albertsen and Chinici scored to get the Knights within 10-5. Swarthmore scored the next three goals before Chinici and Ryan Anderson found the back of the net to cut Arcadia's deficit to 13-7 heading into the final quarter.
  • McLaughlin, Albertsen and Chinici all scored in the final quarter, but Swarthmore held on to win the game, 16-10.
