GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's lacrosse team used a strong first half to top Eastern, 15-9, on Wednesday afternoon at Jean Lenox West Field.
Prior to the start of the game, the Knights were escorted by female students from Glenside Elementary School as part of the celebration of International Women's Day.
The Knights picked up their first victory of the season with the win over the Eagles.
Three Knights recorded multi-goal games, led by
Ashley Starkey as she tied her career high with six goals.
Morganne Dee added four scores and
Olivia Poley found the back of the net twice. Each also added an assist in the win.

Emily Griffith picked up the win as she made eight saves.
ARCADIA 15, EASTERN 9
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights scored the game's first six goals, including four from Starkey. Eastern got on the board before the end of the first quarter as Arcadia led 6-1 after the opening 15 minutes of play.
- Arcadia extended its lead to 12-1 after the second quarter as it outscored Eastern 6-0 in the frame.
- The second half began with a 3-0 Arcadia run. Eastern closed the quarter on a 3-0 run to cut the Knights' lead to 15-4.
- Eastern scored five times in the final quarter, but the Knights closed the game out to get their first win of the season.
