WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Arcadia University men's ice hockey team fell in its season opener to Western New England, 5-3, on Friday evening in the Western New England Showcase.

Donnie Feldman, Jack Quigley, and Cody Mastay scored their first goals of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Knights started off with two quick goals to open the first period. Quigley scored in the 7th minute followed by a Feldman goal in the 14th minute.
• Western New England was able to respond after the second goal a minute later. 
• The Golden Bears were able to tie it up 50 seconds into the second period.
• Western New England was able to get two goals to start the third period, where the Knights were able to respond on a power play.
• The Golden Bears were able to gain an insurance goal in the last minute of play.
