Women's Ice Hockey Ties #11 Cortland

COLMAR, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's ice hockey team tied Cortland on Sunday afternoon.

The score read 5-5 at the end of overtime before the Dragons were able to capture the the shootout. 

The Knights move to 8-1-1 and 6-0-0 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Knights dominated the first period scoring three goals and holding Cortland to zero.
  • Karahkwenhawe White notched a goal in the opening three minutes of play. 
  • Bridgit Terry made the lead 2-0 on a power play.
  • In the last two minutes of the first period, Phoebe Roberts extended their lead to 3-0.
  • The second period started with Cortland scoring two quick goals for them to only be trailing by one.
  • Haylee Kos responded 30 seconds later to the Dragons goal and brought the Knights lead back to two.
  • Cortland was able to tie the game at four in the midst of the third period.
  • Abbi Komrofske took advantage of the Knight's power play and took the lead for Arcadia at 5-4.
  • The Dragons were able to collect a goal a couple seconds later and tie the game at five.
  • In overtime, Hannah Bergeron made seven saves.
  • Cortland went 2-3 in the shootout, where Arcadia went 1-3.
