Men's Indoor Track & Field Breaks 4 Program Records at Season Opener

COLLEGVILLE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's indoor track and field team opened their season at the Bow Tie Invitational hosted by Ursinus on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Knights had a total of 15 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championship qualifying performances and broke four program records.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jey Brown met MAC qualifying standards in the 60m (7.19), 60m hurdles (8.73), and shot put (12.66m). Brown's 60m hurdles time and shot put distance are both new program records.

- Ben Williamson qualified for MACs with a personal and program record breaking time of 15.51.88 in the 5k.

- Micah Bullock qualified in the 60m dash (7.28), as well as the 200m (22.66). His first-place finish in the 200m, broke the previous program record.

- The 4x400m relay of Ryan Anderson, Bryan Carroll, Ramses Valera, and Wesley Castelli broke the program record with a time of 3:36.70.

- Masai Pines-Elliott met MAC qualifying standards in the Long Jump (6.38m) and 60m (7.29) events.

- Eddie Gwitira qualified in the long jump (5.95m). He also competed in the triple jump (11.10m).

- Keaghan Cote threw a personal best distance of 11.39m to qualify for weight throw. He also threw a distance of 10.77m in the shot put. 

- Jaden Abreu qualified in triple jump with a distance of 11.68m and recorded a personal record in the long jump with a distance of 5.85m. 

- Brendan Blyth finished third and met qualifying standards in the mile (4:31.07).

- Carroll also qualified for MACs in the 400m with a time of 53.46.

- With a height of 3.95m Matt Schutz finished in second place and qualified for MACs for pole vault.

- Castelli also qualified in the 200m (23.59).

- Aaron Lemons Jr., Dee Fennimore, Landon Gentile-Adamson and Dylan Chauhan also competed in their first collegiate indoor meet.

The Knights return to action on Saturday, January 18th as they head to the Armory for the Ramapo Opener.
