GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's volleyball team came away with two wins on Saturday afternoon, sweeping both Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) foe, Eastern and non-conference opponent, Drew.
The Knights are now 16-11 on the season and 4-3 in MAC play.
In the win over Eastern,
Ryan Miller and
Josh Clendening led the way with nine kills apiece.
Evan Rothmann added eight kills to help Arcadia sweep Eastern.
In the sweep of Drew,
Danny Gonzalez had a match-high 11 kills.
Riley Kodidek dished out 32 assists as he finished with 67 assists between the two matches.
ARCADIA 3, EASTERN 0
HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1: Arcadia 25, Eastern 21:
Eastern held a one-point lead at 12-11, but the Knights took the next three points, taking a 14-12 lead. The Eagles battled back to tie the frame at 16, but Arcadia outscored Eastern, 9-5, through the rest of the set to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
Set 2: Arcadia 25, Eastern 13:
The teams traded the opening four points of the set. Arcadia then won the next seven points to take a 9-2 lead. The Knights never let Eastern back in the set to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
Set 3: Arcadia 25, Eastern 22:
The Eagles had a strong start to the third set, eventually holding a 16-13 lead. Arcadia then went on a 7-1 run, taking a 20-17 lead. Eastern got within two points on multiple occasions but could not get closer as the Knights took the third set to sweep the match.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1: Arcadia 25, Drew 18:
Arcadia quickly jumped out to a 5-1 lead. Drew answered, getting within a point at 8-7, but the Knights took the next three, taking an 11-7 lead. Drew cut the Arcadia lead to two at 12-10, but the Knights then took an 18-11 lead through a 6-1 run. Arcadia went on to win the race to 25 points to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
Set 2: Arcadia 25, Drew 18:
With the set tied at nine, the Knights went on an 8-3 run, giving them a 17-12 lead. Drew took the next two points, but Arcadia closed the frame on an 8-4 run to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
Set 3: Arcadia 25, Drew 23:
Drew built a 15-8 lead in the third set, but Arcadia battled back through a 7-1 run to get wihin a point at 16-15. Arcadia then tied the match at 18, and eventually took its first lead of the set in the middle of a 5-1 run, that gave the Knights the set and match win.
