Baseball Stays Hot, Sweeps Doubleheader at King's

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Arcadia University baseball team continued its recent hot stretch, finishing off its series sweep of King's College in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play on Saturday, taking game one 14-0 before winning 14-5 in game two.

FOR THE RECORD
-Arcadia improved to 25-10 overall and 14-4 in conference play.

-King's fell to 9-21 and 4-14, respectively.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE: ARCADIA 14, KING'S 0
-Kevin Wheeler opened the scoring in the top of the third with a single scoring Noah Stennett.

-The Knights added three runs in the top of the fourth on RBI's from Stennett and Gabe Diaz.

-Stennett made the scoring 5-0 in the top of the sixth with a single that brought in Tommy Ajjan,

-Arcadia broke it open in the top of the seventh with nine runs, with the big hits a three-run homer from Anthony Bruno and a two-run double from Stennett.

-Nadell Booker earned his fourth win of the season with a complete-game three hit shutout, striking out six.

GAME TWO: ARCADIA 14, KING'S 5
-King's jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first.

-Ajjan cut the deficit in half in the top of the second with a triple that scored Matthew Sot.

-The Monarchs retook a two-run lead in the bottom of the second.

-Each team traded runs int he fifth to make the score 4-2.

-Arcadia exploded in the top of the sixth with nine runs, leading 11-4.

-The Knights finshed their scoring with a run in the eighth and two in the ninth.

-Cam Nebel earned the win in relief with one strikeout.
