GLENSIDE - The Arcadia University field hockey team will look to continue its recent run off success when it begins the 2024 season on Friday, the 16th under the tutelage of head coach
Erin Livingston.
The Knights advanced to the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom semifinals for the ninth time in the last 11 seasons (excluding 2020) las season, and will return an experienced unit looking to take the next step this season.Â
"I would say our roster is probably the most experienced I've ever coached," explained Livingston. "This year I feel like I am on a little bit of a vacation because our team knows me so well, and I have coached half of our roster for four years, so they know what to expect."
Arcadia is led up front by NFCA Second Team All-Region IV and First Team All-MAC Freedom selection
Morganne Dee, who led the conference with 44 points, was second in goals with 19, and tied for fourth in assists with six a season ago. Returning at forward for the Knights are
Charli Rissmiller,
MaKenna Fick, and
Mackenzie Clark. Newcomers include first-years
Ava O'Connor,
Dylan Snyder, and
Avery Patterson.Â
In the middle, returners
Ashlyn Barton,
Katlyn McCorkle,
Sam Jacona,
Callie Falzone, and
Sophia Hathaway will be joined by
Kyra Moyer, and
Gianna Shirlow.
On the back line, NFCA Second Team All-Region IV and First Team All-MAC Freedom honoree
Morgan McEntire returns with
Karynne Henry,
Sophia Dwyer,
Briella Kish, and
Grace Vigliotta.Â
In goal,
Anna Doblovosky leads the way after starting 17 contests in her rookie season.
Leana Solomon and
Madison Kubicz return along with first-year
Samantha Thomas in cage for the Knights.
Arcadia begins the 2024 season on Friday when it will travel to Stockton University for a 7:00 p.m. non-conference matchup. MAC Freedom play starts October 12th against Delaware Valley while the MAC Freedom Tournament begins on November 4th.Â
