O'Donnell Leads Women's Lacrosse to Victory in Season Opener

GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa.  – The Arcadia University women's lacrosse team opened its season with a 9-6 win over non-conference opponent Gwynedd Mercy on Wednesday afternoon.
 
The Knights had six individual goal scorers on their game.
 
FOR THE RECORD
- Arcadia improved to 1-0. 

- Gwynedd Mercy fell to 0-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Thea O'Connor scored the first goal of the game with eight minutes remaining in the first quarter. 

- Just one minute later, Jaylee Killgore found the back of the net to give the Knights a 2-0 lead. 

- Jordyn Chan extended Arcadia's lead to three 45 seconds later.

- Gwynedd Mercy then put their first goal on the board with 27 seconds left in the first quarter. 

- Tessa O'Donnell opened the second quarter with a goal.

- Mackenzie Clark notched her first goal of the season with an assist from Olivia Poley

- The Griffins collected another goal with seconds remaining in the quarter. 

- A minute into the third quarter, Killgore collected her second goal of the night.

- Gwynedd Mercy scored three straight to close out the third quarter.

-  The Knights outscored Gwynedd Mercy 3-1 in the fourth quarter with two more goals coming from O'Donnell and one from Meghan Graham

- Emily Griffith secured her first win of the season with six saves.
