Softball Uses Big Innings to Sweep Rosemont

GLENSIDE - Big innings were the theme of the day as the Arcadia University softball team swept its non-conference doubleheader with Rosemont College 21-0 in game one and 11-3 in game two from Blankley Field on Wednesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE: ARCADIA 21, ROSEMONT 0 (F/5)
-Arcadia opened the scoring in game one with three runs in the bottom of the first on RBI's from Nathalia DiIanni, Taylor Sommer, and Dakota Fanelli.

-The Knights exploded in the second inning as 22 hitters came to the plate and 16 of them crossed the plate to expand the lead to 19-0.

-Zoey Ritter and Stephanie Binek finished the scoring in the fourth with RBI hits.

-Mac Champion earned the win with three scoreless innings.

GAME TWO: ARCADIA 11, ROSEMONT 3 (F/6)
-Rosemont crossed the plate first in the top of the third to take the lead.

-Arcadia responded in the bottom of the frame with four runs as Caldwell, DiIanni, Sommer, and Sybella Demaio notched RBI's.

-The Knights added on in the fourth with five runs to take a 9-1 lead.

-After the Ravens scored twice in the top of the fifth, DiIanni hit a single to left that brought in Abby Jones in the bottom of the frame.

-The next innnig, Molly Delio sent the fans home with a walk-off sacrifice fly that plated Kyleigh Mihalik.

-Juliana Presto was dominant in the circle, allowing one run on three hits across four innings with one walk and nine strikeouts.
