Eight-Run Eighth Lifts Baseball to Big Comeback

AMBLER - Trailing 8-0, the Arcadia University baseball team scored 10 unanswered, including eight in the bottom of the eighth, to defeat Rutgers-Newark 10-8 in non-conference play at Skip Wilson Field on Tuesday afternoon.

FOR THE RECORD
-Arcadia improved to 13-7.

-Rutgers-Newark fell to 8-11.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Rutgers-Newark scored four runs in the top of the first, three in the fourth, and one in the fifth.

-Jake Hendershot got the Knights on the board with a triple in the bottom of the fifth that scored Joshua Agriesti, coming around on a throwing error on the relay.

-Anthony Bruno had the big hit in the eight-run eighth, flipping a two-rin single to right that plated Noah Stennett and Gabe Diaz to give the Knights their first lead.

-Sean Ahrens earned his first career win, tossing two scoreless innings of relief with two strikeouts.

-Gabe Marshall earned the save, retiring the side in order in the ninth.
