CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Four big innings in game two helped the Arcadia University baseball team split its Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) doubleheader at DeSales on Saturday, taking game two 20-7 after falling 9-1 in game one on Saturday.
In game two,
Max Oswald became the 11th player in program history to notch five hits in a single game.
FOR THE RECORD
-Arcadia stands at 22-12 overall and 12-6 in conference.
-DeSales moved to 17-16 and 9-9, respectively.
HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME TWO: ARCADIA 20, DESALES 7
-The Knights opened the scoring with three runs in the top of the first on RBI's from
Anthony Bruno,
Griffin Murphy, and
Taro Pustilnik.
-Arcadia added on with four more runs in the second on a
Thomas Strauch RBI triple, an Oswald run-scoring single, a sacrifice fly from Murphy, and a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch from
Eric Shandler.
-The Knights put the game away with three runs in the fourth and eight in the sixth.
-
Will Conroy earned the win, allowing one run on three hits in five innings with two walks and two strikeouts.
