HOBOKEN, N.J. - Strong pitching from
Braden Kelly and
Jadon Dormer mixed with timely hits led the Arcadia University baseball team to a split of its Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) doubleheader at Stevens on Saturday, taking game one 8-6 while falling 6-3 in the late game.
FOR THE RECORD
-Arcadia stands at 18-9 overall and 8-4 in conference play after Saturday.
-Stevens moved to 16-10 and 11-1, respectively.
HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE: ARCADIA 8, STEVENS 6
-Stevens opened the scoring with run in the first and third to take a 2-0 lead.
-
Ryan Radigan tied the score in the fourth with a single that scored
Max Oswald and
Cam Seymour.
-
Anthony Bruno gave Arcadia its first lead in the top of the fifth with a bases-clearing three-run triple for a 5-2 advantage.
-The Ducks closed the gap to 5-4 with a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth.

Jake Hendershot and Seymour brought home additional runs in the sixth to put the Knights ahead 7-4.
-After Stevens knocked a two-run single in the bottom of the sixth,
Eric Shandler finished the scoring in the scoring bringing home Radigan.

Braden Kelly earned his first collegiate win, allowing three runs (two earned) across 4+ innings with one hit, five walks, and three strikeouts.

Jadon Dormer notched the first save of his career with a scores 1.2 innings.

GAME TWO: ARCADIA 3, STEVENS 6
-Seymour opened the game two scoring in the first with a two-run homer that brought in Hendershot.
-Stevens responded in its half of the first with a bases-loaded triple to take the lead.
-The Ducks added a run each in the second, third, and fourth.
-Hendershot cut into the deficit with a solo homer in the sixth.
-Arcadia loaded the bases in the eighth and had runners at first and second in the ninth but was unable to cross the plate.
