GLENSIDE - After reaching the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) Championship game for the second time in three seasons, the Arcadia University field hockey team will look to take the next step under new leadership in 2025.
Regan Sammons '23 will begin her first season after serving as an assistant the past two years following a stand out playing career for the Knights. "Expectations remain the same as they have been," Sammons explained. "We want to show up and compete every game, every practice. We're looking to build pff the success the program had last year and we want to be back in that position of being competitive in the conference."
Sammons welcomes a relatively young team in her inaugural season, bringing in 14 newcomers.
In the cage, Honorable Mention All-MAC Freedom selection Anna Doblovsky returns along with returners
Madison Kubicz,
Samantha Thomas, and newcomer
Erin Parrett.Â
Up front,
Mackenzie Clark returns as the leading scorer from a year ago after totaling eight goals and two assists. Returners at forward include
Ava O'Connor,
Dylan Snyder, and
Avery Patterson. Newcomers looking to carve out time are
Lindsey Beattie,
Molly Durkin,
Addison Cieri, and
Ashley Avington.
In the midfield,
Callie Falzone brings back four goals and three assists from a season ago.
Sophia Hathaway returns in the middle of the field with
Gianna Shirlow while
Elaina Washburn,
Jenna Talbot,
Alyssa Garber,
Megan Sladish, and
Mackenzie Connell will fight for time in their first season.
On the back line,
Kyra Moyer anchors the unit after a standout first season along with
Sophia Dwyer.
Audrey Moreno,
A'Brianna Smith,
Breyona Velez, and
Samantha Marrone will join the returns for their rookie season.
Arcadia begins the 2025 season on Friday when it will host Stockton for a 7:00 p.m. non-conference game at Jean Lenox West Field. MAC Freedom play commences October 11th with a trip to Delaware Valley, while the conference tournament is slated to begin November 5th.
