MALVERN, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's golf team wrapped up play at the Swarthmore Invitational with rounds two and three on Monday at White Manor Country Club. The par-71 course plays at 6,699 yards. The Knights finished 15th in the 16-team field with a three-round total of 1001 (+149).
Hayden Williamson was the top finisher for Arcadia, placing in a tie for 65th after rounds of 82 (+11) and 85 (+14) on Monday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Williamson carded an 82 (+11) in the second round, shooting 43 on the front with three pars. He followed with a 39 (+3) on the back, recording four pars and his lone birdie of the round on the par-5 11th. In the final round, he posted an 85 (+14), including a 43 on the front with three pars and a birdie on the eighth. He added a 42 on the back with four pars and another birdie on the 11th, marking a birdie on that hole in all three rounds.
• Nicky Antonelli finished tied for 70th overall, second among the Knights. He recorded a 78 (+7) in the second round, shooting 39 on both the front and back nines. Antonelli tallied five pars on each side and added a birdie on the 11th. In the final round, he posted an 85 (+14), with a 45 on the front and a 40 on the back, highlighted by five pars.
• Frankie Sass placed third for Arcadia, tying for 73rd overall. He carded an 85 (+14) in round two and an 84 (+13) in the final round. Sass shot a 42 on the front and 43 on the back in round two, recording four pars on each nine. In the final round, he posted a 40 on the front with five pars and a 44 on the back with four additional pars.
• Justin Madden rounded out the team scoring, finishing tied for 77th. He recorded an 86 (+15) in round two and an 85 (+14) in round three. Madden shot a 43 (+8) on the front and 43 (+7) on the back in the second round, tallying three pars on each nine. In the final round, he opened with a 40 (+5) on the front, including three pars and a birdie on the eighth, before closing with a 45 (+9) on the back.
• Chad Jones finished 79th overall. He posted an 84 (+13) in round two, with a 42 on both the front and back, recording two pars on the front and three pars with a birdie on the 11th on the back. In the final round, Jones shot a 93 (+22), carding a 45 (+10) on the front with two pars and a 48 (+12) on the back with two more pars. His scores did not contribute to the team total.
Dickinson overtook Franklin & Marshall to win the team title at +20, finishing 12 strokes ahead of the Diplomats. Stevens was the top MAC finisher, placing seventh at +56, followed by York in eighth at +63 and Albright in 10th at +80. Dickinson's Collin McMahon-Shea earned medalist honors after finishing even in round one, shooting 3-under in round two, and closing at even par in the final round.
