MINNEAPOLIS, Mn. – Arcadia University senior outfielder Max Oswald added national recognition to his standout week, earning a spot on the D3baseball.com Team of the Week, as announced Wednesday morning.
Oswald was instrumental in leading the Knights to a perfect 5–0 record, highlighted by a MAC Freedom series sweep of King's. He turned in an exceptional offensive performance, hitting .692 (9-for-13) while driving in 18 runs and scoring 12 times. His stat line also included six home runs, a double, five walks, two intentional walks, three stolen bases, and two hit-by-pitches. He compiled a .783 on-base percentage, a 2.154 slugging percentage, and an eye-popping 2.937 OPS for the week.
Oswald's performance against King's proved historic. In the series opener, he went 2-for-2 with six RBI, two runs scored, and two hit-by-pitches, blasting both a two-run home run and a grand slam in the same inning. He stayed hot in the doubleheader, adding another home run in game one before delivering a record-setting showing in the nightcap. Oswald went 4-for-4 with three home runs, a double, five runs scored, and six RBI, setting a new program record for home runs in a single game.
On the season, Oswald continues to rank among the MAC leaders. He is tied for third in batting average (.429) and leads the conference in OPS (1.511), slugging percentage (.907), on-base percentage (.606), home runs (9), total bases (57), and RBI (31). He also ranks second in walks (17).
