Arcadia University Athletic Hall of Fame Nomination Information

Nominations will be accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year, however in order to be considered for the upcoming class, nominations must be received by December 31 of the preceding calendar year. They can be submitted via regular mail to the Director of Athletic Communications (450 South Easton Road, Glenside, PA 19038) or by filling out the online nomination form. The selection committee will also automatically nominate qualified individuals in their first year of eligibility. Nomination information should include induction award category, name and contact information for nominee, sport, years of service/participation, significant achievements, contact information for the nominator, and other pertinent information. In order to be considered, an individual must be nominated by the selection committee or another individual; self nominations are not accepted.


Nomination Standards/Criteria
Student-Athletes can be inducted in a ceremony that takes place no less than five years after the date of degree conferral, which is subject to confirmation by the Office of Alumni Relations and the Registrar. Teams can be inducted in a ceremony that takes place no less than five calendar years following the date of completion of the season being recognized.

Student-Athlete - A student-athlete must have used at least two years of eligibility in one sport at the university. The student-athlete must have graduated from Arcadia. In addition to having shown exemplary character on and off the field of play and outside the athletic community, desirable qualifications include, but are not limited to, All-American recognition, NCAA champion, Olympic participant, world or conference record-setter, all-conference honors, scholar-athlete achievement, and amateur athletic achievement. The selection committee will be sensitive to the differences between eras of competition and consider qualifications and athletic achievements relative to the time period in which they competed.

Team - Desirable qualifications include, but are not limited to, win-loss percentage, conference or national championships, regional or national rankings/recognition, and extraordinary achievement. The selection committee will be sensitive to the differences between eras of competition and consider qualifications and athletic achievements relative to the time period in which they competed.

Special Achievement/Service - Individuals eligible for this category include Arcadia graduates who may or may not have played a sport while a student but who have gone on to impact the world of sports in some other way or non-Arcadia graduates who have served the department above and beyond what is required of them. The latter may include faculty, staff and administration who are either currently or formerly a member of the Arcadia community and who have profoundly impacted the Department of Athletics.

For the following categories, there will be no waiting period in the case of retirement from the University, and a three-year waiting period for those who leave the University for other employment.
  • Coach - A coach must have coached at least five years at Arcadia. Desirable qualifications include, but are not limited to, win-loss percentage, national championships, conference titles, achievement in public life, and contributions to sport and Arcadia Athletics.
  • Athletic Staff/Administration - Athletics staff must have completed at least five years of service to the department. Desirable qualifications include, but are not limited to, contributions to the field of intercollegiate or professional sports, Arcadia Athletics, and the campus community as well as achievement in public life.
